Spanish Michelin chefs in Food & Fun, Turku

De la tierra al cielo - From earth to heaven

During the Food & Fun event in Turku 1.-5.10.2014 we had the luck to have two Spanish chefs at the Pinella restaurant (oldest restaurant in Finland). The food experience was like touching heaven from these Michelin level chefs. From the starter to dessert, it was really like taking off from the earth and flying to the clouds to touch the sky.

The starter, Trout tartar with apple, smoked eel and fish roe, already put an high level for the rest of the menu. The healthy part of the menu, Cocotte of autumn mushrooms, and vegetables with foie gras, gave again a good reason, why there should always be a vegetable dish on any menu. The real climax arrived with the main dish, Pigeon risotto and crying olives. Well, the chef's themselves warned us; "this is not a normal risotto". When dessert arrived, Pear, hazelnut and Earl Grey, the sky wasn't anymore the limit.

We were also lucky to have the chance to enter the kitchen to say hello to the Torres brothers. And Pinella being on of the most stylish restaurants in Turku, I can really recommend these kind of experiences to anyone, and let's hope we see the Torres brothers soon again in Turku.
